Trade is the only sustainable way to address world poverty.  Aid can address short-term crises in response to natural disasters, famine or war, but it is not a long-term solution.  Human enterprise is one of the world's richest resources; through it everyone can be fed and clothed - but only if the benefits of trade are shared.

Traidcraft has been fighting poverty through trade for more than 25 years and through its unique structure, incorporating both a trading company and development charity, has been able to make a real difference, breaking the cycle of poverty and despair.
